What Will you Thank Yourself for 3 Months from Now?

I had a friend share a post on her FB page recently that stopped me, and got me thinking.

What could you do today that three months from now you’d thank yourself for?

Simple, but a really profound thought.

My thoughts always go towards health. Maybe that’s just me. I’m a chiropractor, and I think about health, and what it takes to be healthy, a lot

Since having a family, I think about health even more. Less my own health, although I do think about that, because I need to be healthy to be able to provide for my family, and to be the kind of dad and husband that I want to be.

So I need to look after myself, and my health.

But I think about my wife and kids, and their health, a lot. I don’t think I ever really knew what it was to worry until I had kids. You love them so much, and want the best for them, and want them to be happy, and most importantly healthy.

I just heard about some friends of ours, and their youngest son, who is only 2, who was in the hospital all Christmas, at Sick Kids. He ended up needing intestinal surgery, and is still there. As a parent of young kids, it breaks my heart, and I pray that he’s ok, and their family comes through this ok.

It’s so easy to take good health for granted, but there really is nothing more important.

So what can I do today, or this week, that I’ll thank myself for 3 months from now?

I’d take that even a bit further…what can I do today, or this week, that I’ll thank myself for 3 YEARS from now?

And because most health problems don’t happen overnight, but gradually over time, what could I do this week that I will thank myself for 30 YEARS from now?

Seriously. Because it will come, 30 years, faster than we all think.

What is that thing?

Hopefully one of them is getting adjusted. Looking after the connection between your brain, which controls EVERYTHING in your body, and the rest of you.

That’s the job of your spine and nervous system, to coordinate every part of you…your muscles, all sensation, and all your organs, to keep you healing properly, repairing properly, and healthy for as long as possible.

What else? Is there some movement, some exercise, you’d thank yourself for 3 months from now if you started it?

What about drinking more water? Or eating a bit better?

All of these things, done over time, can and will transform your health. Somewhat in 3 months, definitely over 3 years, and could determine if you even get another 30 years or not, or at least if you’re healthy enough to enjoy them.

So think about it. If you’d like to share, we’d love to hear what you want to work on. So that 3 months from now, you look back, and you feel better, you are better, and you’re proud of yourself because you took that first step.
